I am an old guy and I really enjoy driving one of these old trucks mostly stock with a 4 speed granny transmission. I have only owned and driven 3 of these trucks and all of them have had the 4 speed granny transmissions. One was a '72 GMC with a 350, the next was a '71 C-10 with a 350 originally then a 454 and the one we are building now is a '67 swb stepper that started out with a L6 250, but we are now putting a 454 in it.

If I get the urge to drive a truck with an auto I drive our '92 K-3500 GMC duallie, but I normally only drive it when I need to pull or haul something heavy.

My son and his family like the autos.

The way I look at it, build and drive your truck the way that brings a smile to your face.
