Why not screw or bolt a tongue of sheet metal to the back of the console..
The metal you could cover with fabric or foam to protect the upholstery, and force it in between where the seat bottom meets the back.. protruding slightly behind the seat.
The pressure would hold it in place and keep it from slipping..
and then you could bend the protruding part up against the seat back so it wouldn't come out..

Just a thought.
