Well, I wish I could give you the answer you're looking for, but I can't. My 205 t-case came out of a 78 and was not drilled for the torque mount either but I drilled and tapped it before it went into my 67. As Yukon said, that's a lot of weight hanging out the back, that extra support gives me piece of mind. The stories I have heard about broken t-case adapters is what motivated me to hang the torque mount.
