Thanks for the pictures. I finally figured out what is missing on my seat. It looks like the spring and the clip and the end of the latch are missing. I didn't quite figure it out from the first set of pictures you posted.

Right now I have the rod butted up against the end of the latch mechanism (the "L" shaped part) and there is some wires wrapped around the two. Is there any chance you might know of a place that would sell the spring and the clip?

Thanks again for posting the pictures. They were a great help.
