I built a boat rack for canoes and kayaks that sits on the rails and uses the mounting holes for the top. Something I'm planning on doing next year is to take some parachute material or other lightweight nylon material to a seamstress and have her sew some magnets in the corners. When I park in a hot parking lot with the top off, I'll throw a couple of magnets on the dash and a couple on the rails or floor behind the seats to keep the seats and steering wheel from roasting in the sun.
