I was looking for a 60-66 truck and then happened along the caprice and thought the engine and trans combo would be perfect for a project. Then, when the wheel base and track width matched up, I thought "what the heck".. I could make a list of all the late model technology that the police package has.. And have you seen the list of chassis upgrades you can get for a caprice?? There is another group of crazy people that worship the 94-96 Impala SS and they come up with all kinds of cool stuff for the chassis and engine.
The hardest part is laying awake at night figuring out which jigsaw piece to grab and sledge hammer into place!!!
The further I go the more I think about how much to insure it for. Cause if it is wrecked the Body shop is going to be scratching their heads trying to figure out how to fix it....
All in all, I hope it is as cool
as I think it will be.. If not it will look good on the side of the river keeping the bank from eroding...
