Only if you use compressed media with a crap sample rate. You can have digital media that isn't stripped out. What do you thing they burn onto the CD you are playing? I have been working in digital media distribution for over 10 years, this isn't my first movie.

But back on topic.

I'm not a fan of 6x9's, but that is just a personal preference. Rather than a 6x9, you could do a 6.5/3.5/tweet in about the same space and get much better sound.
