Western Star....I was confused about mine when I first put it in. matter of fact I broke a speedo cable bending it too tight to fix. Hope you can see in the pictures. First set it to mount as far forwar (to the front as you can). Then you run the speedo cable just in fron of the downward shifting arms. It looks like they will hit it when you shift to 1st or 3rd, but they clear.
I don't think this will matter much, but when I replaced my speedometer cable I got the longest stock size available. Gave me a bit more to play with.

It does look wired until you get it in, but she worked great fro me.

Only thing I would recommend is using loctite or a lock nut on the bolts that hold the shifter to the linkage. Mine worked loose after about 6-8 months.
