Re: Accepting PayPal question
Hi Guy's, can I give you an off sure buyers perspective on this issue? First I'll start by telling you that the oil rig deal is scam scam scam Here in Aust were not immuned from these A%s H@les either, the scammers from counties like nigeria,Indonesia, Yugoslavia, Lithunia, Romania, Turkey, Russia & Pakistan target our classified ads, they set up fake Paypal pages & ask you to pay into them. Do not deal or waist your time with them!!!
Now in saying that I have purchased eight vehicles on line (mainly ebaymotors, craigslist & referals) from the US over the last 10 years, cheapest car 7k dearest 28k, I would first make contact by email & then by phone. Calls would be several & can go as long as an hour. I would need to feel comfortable with the deal & the seller, remember I'm the one sending the funds, my main & only concern was not so much the condition of the vehicle, as I think I have a keen eye & have asked the correct questions but wether I would get anything at all in return for my money.
Standard practice for me, I would payal 1k as a deposit & then go to my bank with the sellers full bank details (routing# or swift code) pay the rest & would be in their account within a couple of hours & cleared in their account within 1 1/2 days.
In the meantime I have organised ground shipping to pick up from the seller & send to shipping port.
ps: I despise these parasites that are scammers, they try & take our hard earned money "that doesn't come easy" from the comfort of their pc.
On a lighter note, here's my 56 GMC getting picked up from the nice old guy I bought it from back in 07. Sorry for rambling!
