I don't see a problem with it the way you have it set up. I've got a Van sitting in the yard that fried the engine before I got it because the rubber cooler line leaked at the cooler and over time got trans fluid over the bottom half of the radiator which in turn collected dirt and became greasy dirt which plugged the radiator and fried the engine when the p/o towed his 25 ft boat with it.
