Most people will tell you that a one piece drive shaft is not a good thing with a lwb truck.

It depends which drive shaft the 6 cylinder truck had. My '67 was a 3/4 ton lwb stepper with 6 cylinder and granny 4 speed, it had the large diameter two piece drive shaft with the heavy duty center bearing so when I put a 454 in it I had no problems.

I am sure others will chime in with more info and opinions.
