Re: Made an "un-popular" decision with my 307!
Well, spent today cleaning up and tearing down the old motor. Got it all torn down. Sending the crank to the shop monday to get checked out.
After i got that done, I decided i wanted to confirm the heads that were in my truck. Was told 416 heads....
Well, they arent........ They are 378450 heads. Very little information out there about these heads at all, but from what i can find it seems they are 60CC with 1.72/1.50 valves......So not what i was wanting AT ALL!.
I started this 307 build using the 416 heads, Elderbrock 2101 intake, Elderbrock 1400, 600cfm carb, and HEI super coil as my starting point as I was told they were just installed fresh when I got the truck in June....Well the carb, manifold and HEI are right..just not the heads....
First i guess i should ask if anyone has any info on these heads? Worth keeping or????
I guess i could try and sell the intake and heads and get a new intake manifold and some vortec heads if i can find them reasonably priced......
