if it is leaking from that hole, then there is a puncture on the cap and you got a bad pump. you will need to replace it. also if you are going to look for a threaded rod to put in there, you also will need a thin nut for it, thin enough that it will fit in the space between the pump and the bracket. the nut is used to used as a stop so that the bolt can be tightened on the pumb before it goes all the way through and makes a hole in the cap of the pump.
