It's been a long time since I've posted on this thread. We've just been enjoying the truck. Anyhow, we've been fighting a blow-by problem with the 283.... stinking up our cruises. After trying a few things to bypass the problem, nothing helped. It was either pull it out and go through it, or replace it. So I jumped on Craigs to see what was out there. Ended up finding an ad for a freshly rebuilt 327 longblock, never fired for $700. So I called the guy... he said he had no use for it. We're in Santa Fe and the engine was in Albuquerque so I called my buddy to go check it out. He called the guy and talked him down to $500 over the phone! We couldn't get down there fast enough. We got a killer deal... She's super clean and going in the '65 real soon...
