Looking for advice on steering columns. While my buddy had it, he yanked the OE column and gearbox and axles....they are gone. He installed 80 model Blazer axles, and mounted the 80 Blazer power steering box to the frame. As in drilled holes and bolted it on.
Question is.....what year columns will be a close fit? Trying not to hack up the dash or firewall. I'm thinking I can get some u-joint type steering shafts to connect to the steering box. In my mind, the steering gear box should be reinforced somehow, but I'm not overly smart. Anyone done this, or point me to a thread about power steering swaps and column swaps?
