The only time pins and bushings won't fix it is if the bushings were so worn out that the holes got enlarged. I've seen it happen dozens of times, they make an oversized bushing kit just for that reason. Hinges on these old trucks should never have to be replaced unless there is some sort of impact involved or you backed out of the garage with the door open. Just make sure you do top and bottom both. It is not a difficult job, especially once you've done a few dozen of them and have the proper tool.
