Do a compression check first . that will tell you if your mechanical stuff is OK. Look for 120 to 150 PSI on all 8 cylinders. Then check the accelerator pump on the carb. It will give all those symptoms if it isn't working. If you get a good strong spray down the intake then go to the engine forum stickies and look for engine timing .
