Mine totally soaked me in the rain without the driprails. the water actually catches on the doorframe and comes inside and gets the seat soaked like 1.5ft inside. if your're in it and open the door count on a soaked crotch.

Also if you have any issues with the gap at the top of the door when closed, removing the drip rails will make it look 10x worse.
