Diesels?

Ok, first off I get why they are better trucks for towing, long hauls, in some cases fuel economy. But why is a used diesel truck with high mileage worth so much more the a gas truck. I know the engine and trans can handle higher mileage, but the rear gears and front if its a 4x4, frame, suspension parts, brakes are all the same as a gas power truck. I don't get why (and this is just an example), lets say a gas 06 GMC 2500hd fully loaded with 100,000kms is a $17,000 truck, but the diesel equivalent with 150,000kms is $28,000. It makes no sense, yeah the diesel engine can handle higher mileage, but everything else on the diesel truck has the same mileage and wear out just as fast as the gas counter part. I'm not saying they should be the same price, but diesels shouldn't cost so much more then a gas truck simply because they are diesels. The diesel engine is just one part of the truck that can handle higher mileage the rest of the truck is going to wear out the same as the gas truck is going to.
This is a prime example of what I mean
06 2500hd
At best this truck with a gas motor would be a 7-8000 dollar truck but because it's diesel its overpriced. To me this is about an $8-10,000 truck, and thats pushing it.
I've even seen 2009's with 250,000kms on them and people asking $32,000, because it's a diesel.

I got news for you just because it's a diesel doesn't mean it's worth twice as much as a gas truck with half the mileage.

I don't know, that was just my rant, I know not all people are like this but it, blows my mind when someone thinks this.
