The demand is their is why they are so much more expensive. And there aot of youngs guys out there thinking they are Hot Rods, because you can put a programmer on them and make alot of horsepower.
So all in all to answer your question, supply and demand.
I just a bought a Dodge Diesel back in April. I was shocked at what people were selling them for, I luckily found and individual selling his, and got it from him. For below Book price.
