Re: Raising the Rear/New Bed
To raise the rear, you might look into a set of new springs. The original ones have likely sagged in nearly 50 years. I believe CPP or someone else offers a set that is for Suburbans and Panels that are designed for more weight.
As for the bed disassembly, on a fleetside, the rear sill is welded to the bedsides in 2 places on each side. Other than that, it is all bolted together.
