I will re check the distance once its in the truck again. But the 6 inch thing was not the issue. The wanted another hoop as " its in the rule book so you must have one" I get the rule book, but if one is already there and it meets the spec as a hoop then it should work. I am running a TKO trans and it sits way back. I looked up the specs I checked when the one piece shaft was made and the issue was with the new trans the front shaft to the carrier was so short that it was not doable from the shop making the shaft.
Again this was all years ago and I am not 100% sure where that measurement was taken at.
As for parts coming apart yes I have seen it along with flywheels etc. I have a quick time housing with the shield to go with it.
As far as firebird goes I refuse to run there any longer. Done with that track. Even for the big show the track was still not right. I was laughing at the cars bouncing down the track, I got free tickets so a few of us went down to watch..
Never run Tucson but plan on it, Marv and I plan on running...
Again main reason for me to get it right now and not have to bother with it later.
