Try to stay away from metal tubing because it will run much hotter than the black plastic that is used. The air flowing through the intake is what cools the tubing. The heat in the engine compartment will heat the metal much more than the plastic and the air isnt enough to cool the metal tubing. You may flow more but your intake air temps will be much higher.
