If you can get the 4.8/5.3/6.0 complete with accessories cheap enough, the carb intake, motor mount adapters, flexplate and spacer for old school trans, and MSD ignition controller could possibly come in within your budget.
As much as I love the old school small block, the fact is it is a new era and the LS motor is plentiful and cheap. You just cant rebuild a 350 for what a low mile LS motor costs at a junkyard.
