the best thing that I have seen to clean a cylinder of carbon is water. Any time I have seen a motor taken apart because of a failed head gasket were water has enterd the cylinder the piston is as clean as can be. why not just pour some water in a running motor to steam clean it. a little water injection may do the trick.
