Personally, I don't think the guys working on the assembly line really cared what was bolted on. 2 of anything made a set. My 71 4x4 burb has factory hooks and there is a left and a right. I just looked at a 72 3/4 ton 4x4 last weekend in Iowa and it had 2 that hooked to the right. someone must not have liked that because it was heated and bent to the left and it didn't look good.
