GM in their great money saving wisdom used the same jets and metering rods on about 5 million different applications...lol. I would not be surprised if you pulled the two carbs apart they had the same rods/jets. How did they do this? Q-jets are super sensitive to float settings. If you have ever bought a q-jet rebuild kit, there is a whole page in the directions with different float settings for different applications...you may need to just raise the float.
