Go get yourself some leveling sand from Lowes, its like $2.50 for a 50lb bag. I spread the sand out on a tarp and let it dry in the sun, raking it occasionally. I then sift it with a kitchen sifter my wife had. The sand does a great job of removing rust and is fine enough after you dry and sift it that it does not clog my $129 Tractor Supply 100lb pressure blaster. If you can afford the blaster and don't mind a little work it is a good investment.
