ls motors are pain in the butt to prime up....let it crank and run a few seconds shut it off and repeat and then when you get preasure run it at 2000rpm until the lifters get pumped up(because more than likely they'll be making some racket)...car craft or hot rod had a neat and in-expensive write up a year or so ago on how to make a priming kit for ls motors...good luck
