The power valve is operated by engine vaccum, so even the primaries are self-compensating for engine displacement to some extent. There are literally hundreds of different metering rods for the Q-Jet with different tapers and different size tips. Edelbrock lists right in there catalog that the same Q-Jet will work on 305 to 454 cubic inch engines.
