i wash mine all the time, i dont cover nothing and i leave it running. if you leave it running it wont crack nothing and then leave i drive it around so the ignition dries out good. i have been do it this way for YEARS. the air cleaner gets wet so i just replace the filter. of coarse my truck dont leak anything so i onle wash the engine bay around the time the air filter needs replaced anyways.
