If there is any way to stick a tape measure through a hole in the rim I'd suggest that and measuring to check the width in comparison to another rim. Backspacing you can check from the back side of the rim. Measure the distance from where the rim is bolted to the hub to the inside lip of the rim (where the tire is seated on the bead). Then check that measurement in comparison to another rim... It's likely a backspacing difference, but I've been known to be wrong.

Good eye though catching the difference.
