That should be the correct jack, they fit a lot of years and usually work pretty well.
A small hydraulic bottle jack works pretty well though but you want one that can get under the front axle with a flat tire.
On my 48 I carried two jacks. One to stick under the end of the frame rail to lift the truck up enough to get the short one under the axle. Having a hot rod truck rather than a restored truck I never worry about having the "correct" anything though.
When you go to wrecking yards just start looking under the hoods and under the seats and behind the seats of mid 70 and earlier trucks and you might run across a jack and the handle.
