You're welcome!

Given the modifications you're planning on doing to the radio, you might still be able to get away with using a car radio after all.

The threaded mounting collar/sleeve that's around the RH shaft is the part that's recessed back on the car radios (and not long enough to reach through the hole in the truck dash). But I'm thinking that collar/sleeve could easily be replaced by a bolt that is long enough to reach. You'd either have to drill a hole down through the center of the bolt for the shaft or just deep enough to secure a stub shaft for a dummy knob if the "tuner" knob doesn't have to be functional for anything in your new setup.
