Re: Radio delete cover/insert?

Are you planning on restoring the truck to stock condition? If not, and you plan a radio/receiver, you can get a used bezel to cover up the hole. I just reinstalled my Alpine in a big hacked hole in my dash and used a metal frame which covers the hole and has a cutout for a single din receiver. You then put a black cover plate behind the front edge of the radio metal cage and that covers everything up. You might be able to use your existing bezel. I think Crutchfield often has a sale to include all of the installation components for free when you buy the receiver (I got a basic Alpine with the installation accessories for about $100.)
I had a 76 Scottsdale C20 with the factory cover plate - I think it had a big clip on the back attached to a threaded stud on the back side of the plate - you screwed the clip until it was tight against the dash.
