I had a 76 Scottsdale C20 with the factory cover plate - I think it had a big clip on the back attached to a threaded stud on the back side of the plate - you screwed the clip until it was tight against the dash.
I think I am going to keep it stock, no restoration plans now until my 75 gets completed. The 250 w/3speed floor shifter is fun to drive! The window has no antenna and there are no speakers in the truck.

I found a stock 75 radio to fill the hole until I find one of these. Im hoping these things arent difficult to find. But Ive never seen one until yesterday!

Do you know where I might buy a stock cover? Thanks
