Re: Manual Trans Installation?
ok time for my long story... maybe.
I have a 5.3 and had the 4l60 behind it for a few years. After a couple power adders it decided to start slipping. I had a T56 in the waitings so that was the plan to swap in. I am getting my final hose made today so hopefully it will be moving again under its own power soon. That will be the best idea for a swap.
For a little history I did the 5.3 gen 3 swap about 7 years ago before most were doing it or there were too many mounts so I made my own, they are low and back far. I was able to set my engine tranny angle at around 3.5 to 4 degrees down in the back and am using my low hump cover so it is possible atleast on mine but it is very very close. I am using my stock 400 turbo mount with just about 3/4 inch cut out of it.
I hope to know soon if my hydraulic clutch works I mounted a S10 master cylinder on my firewall and ran into the top of my clutch pedal, it seems like it has the right throw but again I will soon know. the hose became the thorn in this process. I am using the factory 2002 camaro slave cylinder and the hose in mysetup is too short, I am using the stock "plug" or fitting on the slave, this probably would be best changed to find the right hose. I will post more later.
