I just had mine apart while installing spindles and coils. They are the same way. Drivers side will fall when raised and the passenger side will stay in position when pushed up but moves smoothly without much force. With everything assembled I don't think it will effect handling or ride quality. Let's see what some others have to say. I'm following this one.
