Re: Which tank & driveline? LS powered '57
Looking at Ebay, I'm finding a 2002 Camaro LS-1 gas tank & pump for $130 shipped. "buy it now" is my new friend. 16.8 gallons, made of plastic, has an OEM pump designed for an LS engine. Sweet. Will add C-5 filter & cap off or use the return line as needed. Will figure out filler location when I get it under the truck. Have referenced multiple threads claiming this tank will fit, probably behind axle and under the bed.
Radiator wise, a used 2002 Camaro unit is, again, on Ebay for $100 shipped. Fans & shroud, another $100. Can't beat that. Credit card coming back out soon, I think... Apparently the lower mount takes a little work but the upper mount is caveman-easy. Hell, sounds good to me. I know a couple of sheet metal / fabricator guys in the area for help if needed.
I have a 2 piece drive shaft w/ carrier bearing. The shaft was mated to a 10-spline SM420. It sounds like I'm better off finding a new shaft from somewhere, since I'd need a new yoke put on & a section cut out.
Any good resources on different shaft input styles & lengths?
