Nice, I've actually been wanting to do this exact thing as well, (match a 6.0L block with a 4.8L stroke) So let us know how it turns out, im very interested.

1968 C10 LWB 6.0 LSx swap. Thorley LT swap headers, TH400 cheapy jegs 3k stall, 224/228 .600 lift mild cam. comp Ni beehive springs/Ti push-rods: dyno'd 319RWHP/417RWTQ through stock truck intake, stock 317 heads, 12 bolt 3.73, and 6lug wheels! running and driving great but still more plans for it.
