It kind of sounds like it's scraping the cover, but there is only one way to install the cover. I changed the fluid out on my 81 and never ran into this problem. Do you guys think I should pull the cover off and add a none synthetic gear oil? It will set me back another 30 bucks, but if that's the problem, then I don't feel too bad spending the coin. The truck is bone stock with the original differential. I have 103k miles. All was fine until I changed the fluid. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks for your help.
