A lot of what id be willing to pay for a truck like that would be dependant on the end result i wanted. For example if a patina truck is what your after (i.e. Scrub it down with some CLR and leave the paint mostly as is) with whitewalls and a lowered stance, this truck may work for you. If you want a slick low slung street rod thats a long term project you may want to pass on this one as getting this one to that point would be a handfull.
And as others suggested you may want to consider looking in others areas that have a lot of "less rusty trucks" ( i dislike the term rust-free as they all have some)
Theres a swb fleet for sale on CL where I live ( Kennewick Wa.) that looks to be in great shape and runs. I think it was around 2K IIRC.
theres also a 58 with camaro clip on it with semi decent paint for 5k. These trucks dont sell well around here for some reason. Not any where near the 67-72 c-10s are at.
I recenly went to montana and picked up a 55 wagon it cost me some money to go get it but the price was right.
If your budget is limited I would save some cash and get something id be happy with even if it meant getting it shipped.
There is a 59 suburban and a 63 wagon out there somwhere that handed me my butt because they were "really good deals" LOL
