I've used LMC for parts before, and never had any "issues" to speak of.
Before I'd order shocks over the internet... I'd try a local parts store.
I have been using Monroe shocks on the old rigs for eons with no probs in performance or fitment. The only time I've used different shocks... is on my drag rigs.
