Re: What did you do to your truck today!
A while back I took my back window out because paint was peeling back at a spot over the weatherstrip and surface rust started. I'm glad I took it out because water had been getting behind the old original gasket and the top & bottom was rusty and pitting. I stripped it all clean, put a rust treatment on that turns even pitted metal clean again,etch-primed,smoothed it over (all behind where the gasket covers),sealer primed, and painted it. I just got the gasket from Bil Athey and yesterday put a different slider in with a good latch and good weather seal on the sliding glass (no rattles).
I also replaced the HEI cap & rotor and put new plug wires on. The truck has been sitting since I changed out the interior back in spring. It now has a saddle interior w/new carpet, dash pad,arm rests on mint door panels, saddle tilt column,a/c vents, defrost vents,a chromed glovebox door w/woodgrain,and a tach dash w/re-plated bezel. If I knew I was doing the back window back then I would have painted the interior. When I restore the truck it will get a color change, though,so good enough for now. Now I need to put the saddle Olds 4-spoke sport wheel on.
Next,I am finally going to put the 6" lift on with 12.50/37 SSRs mounted on white powdercoated 8.25" steelies.
