Yes they are mounted on plates. The differential does not hit the bed floor and it is about an inch away. The axle tubes go into the notch but do not sit on the bumps because the bedsides hit the tires in the rear as the backspace I chosed is 1/2 off intead of 5 1/2 I went with a 5bs since I am going to modify the bedsides anyways I wanted the wheel as close to the edge as possible. I am posting some picts of the set up.
