I've seen it referred to as "pancaking" the crossmember. Basically you end up sectioning some of the center of the crossmember (so horizontal cuts, across its width). I will say, my truck is static and although somewhat low, even at only a ~4/6 drop my crossmember can get damn close to the ground and be a pain on speed bumps etc.
