Re: 72 molding questions
[QUOTE=nitrosport_5;5539622]I have a few questions. im working on replacing my rusty 72k20 cheyenne cab with a rust free 70 camper special. i am working on getting all the cheyenne trim mounted on the 70 and have some questions.
1, are the upper and lower side moldings in the same location on the 70&72? the 70 has the black lower stripe, 72 has woodgrain. Yes
One of the Po's back in the day was a screw happy SOB.. lol
2, is it correct to have screws in the tailgate band visable, and not just hidden clips? the rest of my side molding was all screwed on, so i want to make sure the tailgate band is supposed to be that way before i drill holes in my new tailgate. I did notice the LMC replacement is screwed on, but wasnt sure if that was correct. Yes
3, is the 72 cheyenne supposed to have the chrome trim that runs along the bottom of the tailgate? My 72 does not have it, and i am not sure if it is just missing or what, but the 70 does have it. If you have a tailgate band this piece is omitted
4, is the headliner molding supposed to be screwed in along with the clips? or again was the po a screw happy sob lol. Yes
5, what is the trim made out of, and what is the best way to go about re-conditioning it. It isnt magnetic.. is it stainless or chromed? Chrome would be magnetic i believe? Aluminum
