In the center of the first picture below, there's a bare metal part with a rubber grommet inside of the hole. This was said to be from a 72 with 10,000 miles.
In the upper right corner of the second picture, from a 70 GMC, you can see a bare metal ring with a hose going through it.
Could it be one of these ?
