Did the clutch make some sort of sound that is telling you it slips? or is it getting hot, or is it so bad that you can see it slipping? How does the compressor sound? I would lean toward a clutch, but if your compressor has some age on it, I would replace the whole thing, always seems with my luck I put on a clutch and compressor isn't far behind and needs replaced shortly thereafter.
