I just did this swap in my 72 K-10 and it's nice. The truck has a 2.5 inch lift and the space between the front u-joint and trans pan is very close. I would say about 1/2" if that. I bought the Raptor level 3 transmission from PATC for about $2,800 with the shorter tailshaft installed. It also came with a dipstick, TV cable, the bracket for the carb, an oil cooler, and a free t-shirt.
